StColette
Reasons November birthdays are way better than October birthdays: 1) They don't have to share a month with Halloween. 2) They have turkey and pilgrims. 3) They're closer to Christmas. 4) Augustine of Hippo, Pope John XXIII, C.S. Lewis, and Jimi Hendrix were born in November. 5) They just are.
Also November has Veterans Day 11/11 !!! hehehe 11/11 Veterans Day is also special cause that's the day I was born
Wow, that's crazy. That sounds like one of those "Little House on the Prairie" books ... We had an ice storm here in Indiana in 1995 or 1996 (I was still in high school). I can remember watching out the windows and seeing the transformers blowing on tops of electric poles miles away ... they'd light up the sky with a blue arc. It was really pretty, until you realized that all those blue arcs meant no electricity. We lived (and my parents still live) in the middle of nowhere, and use an electric pump for water. The furnace was also electric, as was the stove and the water heater and everything. We didn't get electricity back for 8 days, which is a long time when you've got no water or heat. Craziness. The ice was an inch thick on the power lines, and coated everything else pretty well, too. That's the equivalent weight of putting a compact car on the power line and expecting it to hold. Which is why so many of them didn't.

It was crazy. The trees looked really pretty though, with the inch of ice all over their branches. Until half of them fell down
