Discussion

I would like to have one on one discussion about any topic of your choosing with anybody here. If you want me to choose a topic, then I will. Dom has never gotten back with me, which is unfortunate because I believe he is knowledgeable. I would like someone knowledgeable and will choose who after someone accepts my bid. I realize many see me as a philosophical nut that twists things, but if that's the case then call me on my phychosis. Once we see the point where we diverge, we must acknowledge the point and either find the answer or agree to disagree.

Blessed Be God!

Dairygirl4u2c...What is it that you seek out of a debate like such? If it is to change hearts (away from the Church) may God have mercy on you...Debate's over religion can not be won or losed...we seek understanding in debate's. If you are seeking understanding than that is one thing...But if not, I am sorry.

With Charity,

Andy

wow, I seriously appreciate your words fiat. For one knocking some sense into me because I do sometimes tend to want to convert people. It's not that I am trying to prove that I am right because I will be the first to admit that I don't know the answers and too many people think they do in a very unhealthy way. I suppose I am tyring to prove myself right about not knowing stuff or whatver though and for that, thanks for the kick in the boot.

Now I realize people now will start saying.. that's why you should ask us etc etc. But if people would study the issues more, I think they'd realize it comes down to nobody human can really know.

So it's still healthy for people to look into these issues. So if anyone wants to see another world view, then give me a message. Or for my sake, if you think my world view is without a doubt wrong, I proactively want you to message me! :cyclops:

If you want to have a debate in order to discern truth and to act on that truth, i.e., to look at an issue, decide what the truth is on the matter, and change in order to suit that truth (ultimately, to convert to Catholicism if that is determined to be truth), then I would be interested, but I am not interested in "mutual respect" or "growing together in understanding," ect. The purpose of ecumenism is conversion, not understanding. I do not know whence that idea comes. In any event, I would be glad to debate an issue for which you have not already heard the arguments, but I have to admit, I have been doing most of my debating with other Catholics and am not caught up on my debating with Protestants. You can choose an issue, and I will tell you if I am knowledgeable enough on that issue. Again, this is for conversion, not understanding, so if that is not what you want, then just say so.

While I applaud your efforts at conversation dairygirl, I am going to make the suggestion that you open a specific thread with a specific debatable topic. The problem is we shouldn't be using dUSt's boards as bulletin boards to "find" something to talk about.

I hope that makes sense. So, please decide upon a topic and open a specific thread.

I'll leave this thread open for a couple more hours, but then it should be closed.

Thank you for understanding.

God Bless.
