and he's new here. he wouldn't know about previous topics.

this is not beating a dead horse.

a friendly reminder letter to the Bishop with your concerns will not do any harm but good.

in fact it could speed up the process of it all.

any abuses (doesn't mater if its from LT Or not) not only need to be taken seriously but should be addressed.

i personally hope all LT abuses are stopped as soon as possible after learning of its disencouragement on certain practices...

if i went to a mass like that i would definitly want to speak to someone.

props to you for wanting to take action....

pax.

[quote name='geetarplayer' date='Sep 26 2004, 10:13 PM'] LifeTeen is something the Vatican and even this site both promote. We all know what was and in some cases still is wrong with it. You're beatin a dead horse here.

Neither Phatmass or the Vatican promote Lifeteen.

We DO promote "Preaching Holy Apostolic Teaching" and that INCLUDES obedience to the GIRM and other documents of the Church.

My understanding is that here in Canada, Lifeteen is going to adhere to the GIRM and the changes, there shouldn't be any difficulty...

...and it's colder than Florida. :snowman:

I guess Msgr. Dale Fushek (sp?) (head Lifeteen Guy, and a good priest from what I understand) Went to Rome and got a Curial talking-to, and that the liturgical inventiveness, while appreciated, is a no-no. He is all for changing and getting in Line with the rest of the Church.

I imagine the thing with the lights and whatnot is to emphasize the Eucharist. When Lifeteen is done right, that's precisely the aim - to make young people realize and appreciate the Eucharist more.

Which is good.

That's all.

Cheers,

Dave :)

Keep in mind, while I do love and support LifeTeen, I agree that liturgical abuses are uncalled for. Luckily, my pastor has intsituted the changes called for by the GIRM. Now we just need to get the people of the parish to follow his lead.

Blessed be God!

I am a fan of the idea of Lifeteen...If it isn't abusing the Liturgy...

It seem's like Lifeteen is/was trying to almost take an "entertainment" approach into getting teens to be 'entertained'/interested at LT Masses...It almost seems like a Protestant service (I used to be United Methodist)...It is a wonderful idea, but it still needs plenty of adjustment's and correction's...

Let us pray for the Youth in the world!

With Charity,

Andy

let me just say that Lifeteen, liturgical abuses aside, has brought many teens (including myself) to the Church who would otherwise have nothing to do with it

Exactly, LifeTeen Rocks. If there is still some changes to be made it is that parishes fault. If people don't agree with some of the stuff the Lifeteen as a whole does, you should remember that the Pope already identified what he didnt like in it, and one of the things he mentioned seemed small compared to the other issues most people complain about. What does this mean? Lifeteen is most likely on good grounds right now. Even the Pope agrees :-D.
