theculturewarrior
My friend and I had a tentative plan for when I graduate from library school. I should have all my debts paid off by then, and may even be able to invest in this little adventure in style... We were going to be bohemians. We were going to forget any ambitions we may have had and just make music. Of course, I would be doing it for God...my friend, well, all I can say is not yet as far as the Lord is concerned. My goal was to be a lawyer...but the idea of a bohemian mendicant lifestyle REALLY appeals to me. So, should I, or shouldn't I?

picchick
K i voted no. here is my reason. Someday you are going to be a father and you are going to need to support a family. There is a joke that goes like this. What is the difference between a large pizza and a musician? The pizza can feed a family. I think that you should go for the lawyer thing because through that you can feed and support a family. Meg
theculturewarrior
Of course...I will have a professional degree, and one that can sustain a phamily, at least here in the Valley, where librarians are a hot commodity.

[/quote] Exactly! You don't know, so you should always keep it in mind as a possibility. I think the bohemian thing would be fun, but not as a lifestyle. DancesforLove
I'd say no just beacuse it may not appeal to you in 10 years then your lawyer idea is kinda screwed and you stuck being a bohemian

Even bohemians need as roof over their head and 3 meals a day.
