Our Lady Of Perpetual Help

Okay, so everyone knows i went on vacation around Labor Day, right? Well, I have a picture of Mary (but not the Our Lady of Perpetual Help {OLPH}) clipped to my car's visor. I kept hearing OLPH repeated in my head. Well then my hubby & I visited his grandmother who lives 2 blocks away from OLPH Catholic Church. So then I was getting spooked. Then we were driving along the coast and drove by another OLPH Catholic Church. Now I'm totally freaked out.

Then just this week, I was at a retreat center, and came across a statue of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, which, you guessed it, is another name for OLPH.

I tried praying about it, but I haven't received anything yet.

Am I just crazy? Anybody have thoughts on this? Thanks.

She is saying something...only through prayer will you discover what. I know this from experience. She has given me "signs" frequently of late. It may be something that most people would just think of as being weird or neat, but this is one of the ways that God speaks to us. He knows how to get your attention.

I definitely agree with peach_cube there.

Perhaps pray a novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. :) There's also a nice audio Healing Rosary on ewtn.com you can pray along with, which is dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. I've just recently found out about it & have been praying it lately, actually.

Be patient. Pray.
Recite for 9 days...

See at Your feet,
O Mother of Perpetual Help,
a poor sinner who has recourse to You
and confides in You.

O Mother of Mercy,
have pity on me!
I hear You called the refuge
and the hope of sinners;
be my refuge and my hope.

Help me, for the love of Jesus Christ;
stretch forth Your hand to a poor fallen creature
who recommends himself (herself) to You,
and who devotes himself (herself) to Your service forever.
I bless and thank Almighty God,
who in His mercy had given me this confidence in You,
which I hold to be a pledge of my eternal salvation.

Mary, tender Mother, help me.
Mother of Perpetual Help,
never allow me to lose my God.

Amen.

Recite the following prayers 3 times each...

Our Father...
Hail Mary...
Glory Be...

I wanted to add something after reading your story LilRed :) It does sound like someone is truly trying to get your attention !!

The novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help is very powerful indeed. I said it a certian time while my brother was overseas in Iraq. There had been a land mine accident where he was stationed at there and from his division a few soldiers were killed and injured. I immediately went into panic mode. I wrote him several emails trying to get in touch with him and called his girlfriend to see if she had heard from him. We were beginning to get worried cause normally he'll respond back quickly or call if there's an accident there to let us know he's okay.

Well, a friend of mine suggested that I pray a novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the only one I knew at the time was a seven day form of the novena. So I prayed the novena everyday and on the last day of the novena I received an email from my brother telling me he was okay :) Knowing that was such a big relief. And I know that if something had happened to him that the military would have contacted us right away but that doesn't stop a family member from worrying when they haven't heard from a loved one in a situation like that.

I hope that the novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help will allow you to receive that answers you've been looking for just as it did for me. ^_^

God Bless,
Jennie

Blessed Damien was trying to get a hold of my attention to one day!

I was reading in the bible the day before my birthday, about the 99 lepers and one thanked Jesus. then the next day, I learned it was Blessed Damien who was the leper priest.
