Laudate_Dominum
"The risk of death from pregnancy-related conditions is 15 times greater than the risk of death from the patch, Biggers said." Point. Not that I approve of BC though.
What they forgot to mention is how artificial birth control greatly increases a woman's chances for the types of complications that can be life threatening (such as ectopic pregnancy). They also forgot to mention that it is abortifacient and that you may be conceiving children that will be destroyed by the effects of this product. And they also forgot to mention that NFP, properly practiced, is more effective in preventing births and not only has no harmful side effects, but is healthy for you. I'm sure there are other things they forgot to mention as well.
Thy Geekdom Come
i was clarifying since this phorum is read by many ages and since you implied that BC is better since it "saves" from higher risks...i thougth i would comment im glad you agree.
Flowery, I know you agree. Trust me...I've known Deeds for about four years...you agree...
Laudate_Dominum
And personally, if I had to die somehow, I'd rather die bringing forth new life (like Christ) then die from some goofy patch that I was using to make myself sterile. Honestly that statement seems like little more than rhetoric to try and minimize the fact that this product is potentially lethal. It doesn't really matter if I'm more likely to die from complications in pregnancy, or to die in a crash on the way to the hospital, or maybe more likely to die from contracting AIDS during some sterilized sexcapade, the point is that their product has serious side effects and is potentially lethal, that's all. They are trying to make pregnancy sound frightening (life threatening!) and are thus creating a clever diversion which simultaneously feeds on the woman's supposed fear of pregnancy.
