Antichrist Questions...

A Catholic on another thread asked me a question and I wanted to run it by here...

The commentary for Revelations points out the antichrist will come from papal Rome and the antichrist will be the Pope. i dont know if this is consistent with other commentaries and thoughts out there?

One interesting thing is something I read up on "the little pebble".
A catholic priest (I think) who has recieved messages from Mary, and still continues to do so, has been told the next pope (after John Paul II), will be the anti-christ.

The Antichrist will not ascend to the Chair of St. Peter, he will attempt to overthrow it. By far the best resource on the subject is the book "The Antichrist" by Fr. Vincent P. Miceli, S.J. Also:

dang, you all are making me feel so illiterate. I need to read more about this stuff. I actually think I have a copy of [u]The Antichrist[/u] by Fr. Vincent but I've never even cracked it open.

What's it about anyway? I know that's a dumb question but I mean more specifically? Is it biblical exigesis or something?

It traces the Antichrist through Scripture, the Greek and Latin Fathers, Middle Ages, Cardinal Newman, ect (basically that last 2000 years). It also pulls out Mary's role in salvation history in regards to the Antichrist. It then shows how our society is embracing these evils, ect. Lots of good stuff. Very very interesting book.
