theculturewarrior
There's this other girl in class that I've kind of been chatting with. I don't really know a lot about her except that we probably have divergent world views nd that I think I'd like to be her friend. So I was thinking of approaching her like this. "Hey, [her name here], I think you're pretty cool...do you think I'm cool?" (If the answer is yes then...) "Well, in that case, would you like to join my phan club?" (Then to explain the nature of my phan club.) And if the answer is "no, I don't think you're cool..." then... "Well, um, er..." (Awkward silence). Sojourner
I think you should just ask her to be in your phan club. Tell her you're wanting feedback on various things from different people in your life, and you'd be interested in her input. Don't bother with the first bit -- I think no matter what that would be awkward.

theculturewarrior
when I was in grade school...if I wanted to be somebody's phriend, I would just sit on the curb in phront oph her house...eventually she would come out to play. It stopped working after I turned about 13 though. (Although I didn't figure it out until I was 25. )
Sojourner
So ... you've been out sitting on curbs all this time? If you hadn't showered, they've probably thought you were homeless.
