Bride Left Standing At The Altar By Priest

Assuming there was no true extenuating circumstance......
I am definitely with the Priest on this one!
It is a Mass....... it is not the Brides Mass...... it is the Mass of Jesus Christ and his Bride the Church, The People. There are few good excuses to keep Christ waiting.

I'm on the priest's side, too. No wonder he was mad. Unless she really had a good reason, it's very disrespectful.

One Saturday over the summer, our church was having a wedding and there were some of us waiting in the parking lot to go to confession, and the wedding must have been running late because we almost weren't able to have confession. The priest barely had any time to prepare for the next mass. So it's not like they have nothing better to do.

I don't know why the wedding at our parish was delayed, but if it's because of something that is out of the priest's hands and not his fault, I can imagine it would be very aggrivating.

I've seen priests in Ireland can say a whole mass in 40 minutes -- -- he was probably thinking that, too... hehe... "Oh for crying out loud!"

Wow. Good for the priest. Father Barker was all business about our wedding....I would NEVER have dreamed of letting him wait an extra five minutes.... or Don John either for that matter...

i feel sorry for that priest, who had to wait.......and her husband to be.....

that was just bad taste.
