reelguy227
I have been recieving in the hands but am interested to see what its like to recieve on the tongue .
mamalove
I usually receive on the tongue because I usually am holding one of the kids. But, I kinda prefer to receive in the hand because I just feel a little more comfortable. I like to keep all of my attention focused on Jesus rather than worrying about my tongue (It's kinda weird looking). I have a small mouth, too. That's just silly 'ol me. BrightSunshine
I recieve in my hands. I recieved on my tounge once and I was afraid the whole time that the Host was going to fall. It was a distraction to me.
geo
I recieve in the hand so that I can take a small step to the side, kiss the host and then consume Him.
homeschoolmom
Hand, unless I'm carrying the baby. I prefer the hand, though because I feel awkward trying to get my "amen" in before opening my mouth... I'm afraid I'll drop him.
DemonSlayer
In hand, only in the mouth when I have to.
IcePrincessKRS
I receive on the tongue. I always have (except once when I genuflected and the priest put it in my hand as I stood up, that annoyed me because I had my mouth open, tongue hanging out ready to receive and we just stared at each other for a few seconds before I placed Him in my mouth). FutureSoror
I prefer to receive on the tongue and haven't received on the hand in years. It bothers me to think of little particles of the sacred host brushing onto my hand. It just seems safer to me. Holding God in my hands is kind of scary, though that's how I did it for a long time. i7nvd
Future had it closest. For the reason of crumbs of the Eucharist, it's safer to receive it on the tongue. Jesus is still in those crumbs, no matter how small they are. It is the Church's teaching that the proper and best way is to receive the Eucharist on your tongue, but taking it in your hand is acceptable as well. If you take it on your tongue, there's less chance of crumbs on to your hand. If you decide to take it in your hand, ALWAYS check for crumbs on your palm, and clean 'em up and consume 'em! But yeah. I take it on the tongue.
XIX
I usually recieve on the tongue. It's a comfort issue honestly. It got to the point where most of the people I was hanging out with did it that way, and I conformed to avoid feeling self conscious. I don't need to be thinking about other people watching me when i'm supposed to be focusing on Jesus and the Real Presence but then it just got to the point where I became so much more confortable recieving on the tongue. Either way, though. I don't think it makes a very big difference which way it is done; the Last Supper was probably a lot less organized anyways...
