DojoGrant
Does anyone know when it will be on display again for veneration? I know they do it at some regular interval (every X number of years, I think).
Shroudie
Donna, you wrote:
The scientific concensus is that the image was produced by something which resulted in oxidation, dehydration and conjugation of the polysaccharide structure of the microfibrils of the linen itself.
The concensus of thinking has changed a bit. The significance is dramatic. We should now be saying (and those who wrote the consensus statement are saying it): "of a polysaccharide structure clinging to the microfibrils of the linen itself." I've tried to explain this a bit in the following pictorial essay. Nobody Can Explain the Pictures of Jesus on the Shroud of Turin Let me know what you think. Any suggestions? Any glaring errors? Dan Porter
Shroudie
its been proven to be a medievil fake.
No, it has not. If you are referring to the carbon 14 testing from 1988, that must be discounted because we now know that the samples used were invalid. The sample area is chemically different from the rest of the cloth. No, it has not been proven medieval. Not by a long shot. Shroudie
Donna
Hi, Dan. Wow, you are a Shroudie! Ulp, I must confess that what little I know about the Shroud was explained repeatedly to me in layman's terms...and so I did read your article, but do not understand enough to make comment...or at least not this morn. It's so you've chimed in to Phatmass! I should add, that I didn't write what you quoted me as...it is from the STURP site. Do you know who Brother Bruno is? Are you from Europe? May the Holy Face of Jesus shine upon you!
