jasJis
Ya, but Religion can set too many man made rules, thats the problem with alot of Protestant Denominations, they take their views, and add, alot of man maded doctrine in it, thats unneccesary to have in the first place.
"Man made rules" in the Catholic Church are answers to man made questions over time, but the answers are by humans in the Church, guided and corrected by the Holy Spirit. The problem with Protestant religions, is their whole basis was seperating themselves from the Fullness of the Grace of Correction because they were/are impatient with the timing of God's response in His Church (the Catholic Church). Extreme Trads and Liberals (extreme meaning they become schismatic) are acting on the human frailty of impatience with God. Normal Trads and Liberals are expressing impatience, which is fine, but as long as they stay in the Church, they will be there for God's correction when it suites God for the Holy Spirit to correct His Church. It's not our Church, it's God's. It's not us running the Church, it's the Holy Spirit. We're just imperfect and faulty worker bees...
voiciblanche
There werent nearly as many rules in the Church 1700 years ago, not even in the 1st century, as there is today.
The world was a different place. In the same way that Christ did not come out and say "Abortion is wrong," neither did the early Church Fathers. As it became more of an issue, it was formally written down by the Church as a "rule." I'm sure there are many others that are the same way.
