Paladin D
Question: If "God" is all knowing he would know Lot would end up having sex with his daugthers. If "God" hates incest why would he let Lot's family escape? Also Abraham married his sister Sarah, but he seemed to have "God's" support. I know there's an answer, but I don't know what it's called or how to explain it. Please help ASAP!
cmotherofpirl
Lot's daughters thought they were the last females on earth, since they thought the whole wolrd was destroyed. God gives us free will. SArah is Abrams half sister , same father different mother.
Paladin D
Isn't there a teaching or doctrine about how God knows what each person is gonna do, yet it can change? What's the Church's official teaching on that?
jasJis
Foreknowledge is not predestination. Predestination does not mean all is predestined. For example, God may have predestined you and your future wife to meet, but the choice to marry and participate in His graces within the marriage is up to your free wills. God has predestined all mankind to make the choice to accept or reject salvation. That choice is by provided by Grace alone and is made in different forms for different people. Our free will permits us to have the choice.
Paladin D
So in a sense, can he see our "other choices", outside of his own will? Like him drawing a main road, but also noticing the roads that split off from it?
Paladin D
Well he provided an url, which basically debates what you said JasJis. http://home.epix.net/~jlferri/sodom.html I'm not an expert, but I'm getting there. :(
