Sojourner
I don't mind if you steal my lines, Sojourner. Except the one about the shower...no, that's mean. Steal away, Soj.
Aww, thanks, TCW. You can steal my lines too.
theculturewarrior
Don'tcha hate it when you say something really phunny and nobody hears you? My coworker straightened her hair and it looked real nice and everybody was phawning over her. So I said, "when I want a new look, I just don't take a shower." It's phunny because it's true!
Now I almost pheel bad that nobody stole my line.

homeschoolmom
The best pudding I've ever had was double chocolate tapioca, cooked by a Southern grandma. It was then I knew that tapioca is without a doubt the king of all puddings, with banana pudding a close second. Yay! Yay for tapioca! :cheer:

Sojourner
Well, I personally find the "couple of days of facial hair" very nice, so that could help ... In general, though, hygienic actions such as the use of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, are a plus and tend to bolster the humor receptors of others. As an example, I was at an announcement reception the other day for the Heartland Film Festival (truly moving pictures) and the dude sitting next to me had a ... unique aroma. Lucky for Heartland, the films were interesting enough to overcome the aroma factor, but good hygiene in general makes an experience better. IMHO. (camping would, of course, be the exception to this rule.)
theculturewarrior
But doesn't B.O. make people laugh? And shouldn't I therefore strive to cultivate B.O.

Sojourner
pharting is phunniest when you can't smell it. B.O. is generally not phunny when you can smell it, but it is phunny from a distance. For example, in the above situation at the Heartland event, you would have gotten great joy out of seeing me try to move away from the guy next to me. I was practically plastered on the other side of the seat. Slightly off-topic, one of my co-workers thinks George Bush always looks like he just pharted, and is wondering if anyone else can smell it. theculturewarrior
There's nothing phunny about B.O., it would seem, phlowery. You have to understand my German American culture. In my phamily, none of the guys took showers. We didn't have to, because nana carried a can of Lysol with her wherever she went. RIP Nana. :hearts:
Sojourner
There are some people who don't have bad B.O., you know. Some people can get by with not showering for several days. My friend Mark does it, and honestly you'd never be able to tell. Sometimes, a little B.O. can be good, I think. Just in moderation, as long as it's not too evil-smelling.
