Do You Cry?

I can't cry just for anything, I have to have a lot of time without crying (years), and then it has to be a conbination between anger, impotence due to integrity or selfish pride, or sadness. I managed to shed a few tears during the Passion, but can you really help it when you know the symbolism and actually watching your sin being paid for by someone who doesn't deserve it? It's not that I don't want to cry, I just can't.

 i WOULD NOT CRY FOR 19 YEARS, IT WAS EMBEDDED IN MY HEAD "WIMPS CRY". HOWEVER FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO CRYING HAS BECOME A MAJOR PART INT HE HEALING PROCESS OF MANY HURTS. PLUS A GOOD CRY ACTUALLY DETOXIFIES YOUR BODY OF CARP THAT CAN ONLY BE DISPELLED THROUGH TEARS. THANK GOD FOR TEARS :weep:

I cry when Im in the presence of the Lord, sometimes when I'm praying, and when I'm upset of course. I cry in front of my friends, infact I feel more comfortable crying in front of them because Im not only when I cry. :)
I don't cry. It's really not healthy. I internalize grief. Sometimes I have giggling fits at funerals. Not because I'm happy the persons gone...it's just that I go numb. :(
I'm kinda like that, too. When I get in trouble, like big trouble, my parents have serious talks with me and I start laughing because I'm uncomfortable but I can't cry yet... it's bad, and it makes the situation like ten times worse.

As far as crying in general... if it's me being stupid and selfish and sensitive, I try not to let myself cry. Now, I cry a lot at Mass and Adoration most of the time. This, I don't try to stop.

Ditto.

I'm afraid I'm too proud to cry

Nah, I don't think they're the same thing. St. Therese choked on her tears that weren't worth it - tears she would have shed because she was so sensitive that the slightest things would make her cry. Those are the tears I try to avoid. Other than that... I can be quite the crying fool.

"I have several friends who have done home births ... they really like the experience. As much as you can like birth, that is."

I was a home birth. :)

Tears welled up in my eyes during Mass on Sunday. We go to the cathedral now, and they have a wonderful choir. With the organ playing in that big church, with the choir harmonizing in Latin, I lost it. It was immediantly after communion, so Jesus was in me. Wow...

Ya, I cry too. I know I said earlier that I'll laugh at awkward times, but I definitely DO cry as well!

I just think crying is in a way, purifying. You're releasing all those bottled up emotions. It's kinda like that idea of catharsis...

Sometimes you just need a good cry. :)
