The RSVCE isn't the New Jerusalem Bible. The New Jerusalem Bible is a revision of the Jerusalem Bible.

In defense of translators: English does not have the vocabulary necessary to accurately translate the phrase "[i]Chaire, kecharitomene![/i]" Different English translations have their own advantages and disadvantages, but no English translation is truly "right."

Because it is based on the older Jerusalem Bible (for which J.R.R. Tolkien translated the book of Jonah), but has been more recently modified. It's a revision. Thus, "[i]New[/i] Jerusalem Bible."
