azaelia
First God created Texas, then Canada, then Bagpipes , Bagpipes are the bomb I actually forked over the cash to buy a set and take lessons, my uncle plays the bagpipes for a living for weddings, funerals and such
That's so cool! I would love to play bagpipes...
theculturewarrior
RussianGirl's boyfriend tried to teach himself to play 'em. But he's kinda like that... (he was homeschooled... )
Don't worry, HSM... I would rather future leaders of this country be spared the faith stealing humiliation and scars of the public school system...even if they play the bagpipes! No, really, homeschooling is the bomb...if only I could find a woman who agreed...I'd raise up twelve little apostles!

homeschoolmom
hehehe... I think hs-ing is the bomb, too. But some days I have to remind myself why I think that...
theculturewarrior
My niece is homeschooled and it has been SOOOOOO good for her! She actually has time for the important stuff...extracurricular activities. She wants to go back to public school though. I hope mom says NO WAY! homeschoolmom
Not to highjack the thread, but... It's funny how the extra curriculars become so important for homeschoolers... They aren't "extra" for us... they're vital. Sports, clubs and classes round out our curriculum. If there was a bagpipe class for 8 year olds, my daughter would be in it. (see how I got us back on topic?)
theculturewarrior
*HIJACK!* In public school they just do busy work anyway.
theculturewarrior
All I learned in public school was how to sip Wild Turkey from a lowball glass.
homeschoolmom
yeah, there's a lot of busywork (I used to be a teacher), but sometimes I wonder if I'm not giving my children enough busywork (ie skill practice) But if they had bagpipe lessons, that would be cool... recorder lessons are about as close as we get...
