Angelone
Thanks for your support FutureNunjmj..... Its a very powerful spiritual movie which cannot be missed. Did you know that the actor who is playing the part of the Pope to whom the little flower goes to get permission to become a nun is a real bishop... and that he was the one who baptised Lindsey Younce (playing: Therese) into the Catholic Faith? Awesome !!! Please make sure you get your tickets..... and ask your friends to join as well - I wish I had the same opportunity myself . But, please God, I am sure I WILL one day . Angelone
That's the Sprit Soldier4Him........ "when we do not give up praying confidence works miracles" - the Little flower The Armor of God..... "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of Godso that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Angelone
can't wait
Director Hopes Catholics Rally to "Therse" Religious Film Opening This Week NEW YORK, SEPT. 28, 2004 (Zenit.org).- The Little Flower is now on the big screen. A film on the saint of Lisieux, "Therse," opens around the United States this week. The film follows Therse from her childhood to her entry into the Carmel and her death from tuberculosis at age 24, spotlighting the development of her character, her soul and her "Little Way." Leonardo Defillipis, the film's director who also portrays Therse 's father, Louis Martin, considers this movie to be a work and exercise of faith. "There are butterflies on opening night, but you have to trust in St. Therse-- who she is and what she has accomplished to get us this far," he said. "It's a miracle that we've made and distributed this movie after working on it for so many years. I am confident in her." This nonprofit, donation-funded film is the first directed by Defillipis, a Shakespearean-trained actor who has produced and performed dramas on the Scriptures and the lives of the saints for more than two decades. Lindsay Younce, a one-time Quaker who converted to Catholicism, stars in the film as St. Therse. Defillipis said he was surprised at the doors that God opened for the film, especially in its distribution. "It's amazing that 'Therese,' an independent, religious film, is being shown in the top two theater chains in the world," he said. "Now that the film is released, it will be something to see if Catholics are interested in our own spiritual legacy. 'The Passion of the Christ' was so supported by evangelical Christians and Protestants; I'm interested to see if Catholics rise up and rally around this very Catholic movie," the director said. Those who would like to bring the film to their towns are encouraged to petition their local theaters to show the movie. "We're getting inundated with calls and e-mails from all parts of the country and all over the world; people want to bring 'Therse' to their cities," said Defillipis. "Therse" has been dedicated to John Paul II, whose call for a new evangelization inspired Defillipis. "I took his invocation seriously and decided that we needed to give the Church a voice," he said. "I'm hoping that this film, the implementation of that voice, will be a work of holiness to touch people's hearts and souls, drawing and attracting people to God's presence." Angelone
Hello StarGirl - sorry about that but, we must keep on pushing - get petitions signed or location forms filled from all our relatives and friends. Its the surest way to help get it shown in our areas as well. Remember that Saint Luke Films inc which is a non commercial entitity does not have the necessary finance to show the movie nationwide. They rely on our prayers and support. If the movie does well in the areas where its going to be shown this week-end our changes to see the Movie will get better and better. If you have friends living in the areas its being show, please invite them to book and see the movie.
