Quietfire
QUitefire you and I often disagree, but that was an excellent post.
Thank you. But to be honest, I am not sure if you and I have ever openly disagreed. I think you have answered a question from me a few times and maybe corrected me on a point here or there but always with the intention of teaching me. I guess I never saw it as disagreeing. I have always felt the student here, to be sure. Then again, I did ask Kilroy to ask you to go easy on me when we found out you would be returning. She promised me you'd be good........ DojoGrant
CatholicCrusader seemed to be implying that missing Mass is out and out a mortal sin. That's fale. Out and out, it's a grave sin, yes. But a mortal sin requires that gravity plus the willful intention of doing it (ie, skipping Mass versus missing Mass by accident). Missing Mass is not NECESSARILY mortal.

It would be like me correcting someone and saying: murder isn't a mortal sin; it's grave matter. Contraception, abortion, fornication, homosexuality, stealing, going to heretical "worship", etc., etc., etc. are not "mortal sins" but grave matter. That is true for any mortal sin, since the definition of a mortal sin is to commit a grave sin with sufficient reflection and willingness.

noncatholicname
Ah, well, in that context, I suppose it works...
In CONTEXT, it came at the same time as a bunch of you were saying you'd be inquisitors and kill heretics if your holy see so decreed it. The comment came out of nowhere at the time, not even bidden by me in any way. What do you think people see in you when you say such disturbing things? Don John of Austria
Noncatholicname You said"You want the infidels dead. I'm an infidel. 2+2=what? " And I said that you where not an Infidel but a heretic( which is because you are a Christian, I thought that had been made clear already not makeing it clear agian was my fault). I also said since you didn't appear threatening that even in a Catholic State you would be safe. At the time you quoted me saying I should remember I said that it the time should ever come that such a thing happened and now you are angry about it... well whatever. Thy Geekdom Come
Yeah, I'm sure you do.
Wow...you can cut the anti-Catholic tension in here with a knife... I don't know who you are to think that you can assume the state of my heart and soul or my intentions. I told you honestly the truth. If you don't want to hear it, I can't help you, but don't try that passive-agressively bitter attitude with me.
