White Knight
Hold on Revelation 20:3 "and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years were finished, But after these things he must be released for a little while." What does this mean? I always thought, that the Devil would be released out of the Lake of Fire after the 1000 years.
Read Scott Hahn's Lamb's Supper or other early Hahn stuff. Basically, we are in the end times (read: not rapture or any of that bunk) or 1000 years(not a literal number in the human sense, but a time span God has determined) right now. voiciblanche
Now the idea is this. He is totally and 100% against God. His whole being is against the Lord. Why would he suffer from lack of communion with God, whom he hates?
I wouldn't agree with the "whole being" part. God made satan, so there is a part of him that needs God, and he knows it. He hates that, but his hatred doesn't change the fact that he was made for Him, by Him... right? Yeah... everything that Al and Jeff said.
mulls
well, a spirit is soul, just not a human soul. a human soul is intended to be united to the body, a angelic soul is pure soul, a spirit.
i thought body, soul, and spirit were separate. the body is obviously the physical, the soul is like our essence (who we are), and the spirit is, well, the spirit, the part that lives on after death, the part that is made alive in Christ. triune beings created by a triune God. i have absolutely no credible resources to back that up, but it makes sense. not something i particularly get caught up in or care all that much about though. In so far as Satan exists his being is good, because God has created him, but Satan's will is disordered and is irrevocably opposed to God, and that is why he is damned. MichaelFilo
Thank you guys for everything. I appreciate it all. Sorry again if this is a waste of time, but I am also trying to insert some debate topics that are fun to think about, and not neccesarily complex. God bless, Mikey
