Crusader_4
Hey Pham, I need some help on St. Augustine. At my school you can initiate a course on a topic and plan the course etc and if approved you will get credits for it etc. So i choose to do a course on St. Augustine. However i need some help and espeically in regards to reference materials. If anyone had any good commentaries they know of especially about "City of God" or "The Confessions" that would be really apprecaited. As well as any other secondary material in regards to the life of St. Augustine or his works/theology/ etc. Also information and resources on the Late Roman Empire during the time of St. Augustine would also be appreciated. I would prefer that they would be written resources however electronic would be acceptable as well. So if anyone knows of any could you plese post them or either PM me privatly. Thanks soo much, -Will

Cure of Ars
I would look into the Augustine club, http://www.columbia.edu/cu/augustine/what.html We also have this in the reference section; St. Augustine of Hippo --Catholic Encyclopedia: Life of St. Augustine of Hippo --Catholic Encyclopedia:Works of St. Augustine of Hippo --Catholic Encyclopedia:Teaching of St. Augustine of Hippo --St Augustine -a male chauvinist? --Correcting Some Misconceptions about St. Augustine's Sex Life (Non-Catholic site) --Sex, Sin and Salvation: What Augustine Really Said Also in your studies if you find anything really cool. Laudate_Dominum
The book Augustine's World is good. I can't remember who it's by or who publishes it, but it would be useful for your purposes no doubt. You might also enjoy the Cambridge Companion to Augustine. peace
Laudate_Dominum
If you are pressed for time and don't want to read whole books you might try something like, Copleston's history of philosophy volume II which has a good overview of Augustine's life, thought and works. Also Maurer's history of Medieval Philosophy. There are countless books actually...
