The title speaks for itself. What was the bestest most favoritest class you ever took and why? I guess if you are in HS, you can answer too since I know you can't resist :P

Mine was "Christianity and World Religions." I loved my prof, the intellectual challenge, as well as all the readings we had to do -- a lot of Catholic writers, even though I went to a Christian Reformed college.

hmmm.... I liked my Children's Literature class, just about all of my Spanish classes (20th Century Spain was my favorite... loved the idea of taking a class in a foreign language)... American Lit (because it was one of those great lazy summer classes)....

I really loved Art History (though some of my prof's anti-Catholic comments irritated me), but the class was wonderful! It was actually really fun. One of my friends took it with me and we later watched Beauty and the Beast and began critiquing the architecture in the castle . . . "look, a vaulted ceiling!" . . . "that doorway is very typical of the Gothic period, don't you think?" . . . and we drove some of our other friends nuts with it. We were such nerds. But I liked it.

American Lit was fun, too, but I wish we could have read more of Twain.

My favorite class in college was my English 109 class -- my very first quarter. My professor was Dr. Mary Wilder, but she was commonly referred to as "Bloody Mary." She was the department head and had a reputation for being VERY hard. I found the class really hard, but fortunately I got a B. :) I didn't enjoy all the work, but let me tell you, she knew how to make that class VERY interesting!

But more than that, she helped me to learn a valuable lesson -- that I should take risks and not be afraid or anything or anyone. Now, she was pretty intimidating -- I was scared of her! And I think she sensed that because she'd sort of pick on me a bit ... I later came to see that she did it to show me that there wasn't anything to be afraid of. But it wasn't just that ... in my assignments I'd often be afraid to "think outside the box" and take risks there. On more than one occasion she wrote on papers I'd written that I should lighten up. On another occasion she said in class, not addressing anyone in particular, that being afraid to take risks in her class would only earn you a C. Actually, that's how everything in my life was -- I was scared to take risks. I was scared of messing up. I was scared of looking foolish. This wasn't something I could've learned overnight, but I've come to see that life is all about taking risks. The saying "no guts, no glory" is true! I'll be forever grateful to Dr. Wilder for helping me to see that there's nothing to be afraid of. I'm not saying I'm totally fearless now, but now I try never to let the fear of failure stop me. And I owe it all to Dr. Wilder! :D

The most interesting had to be the History of the English Language, or my History of the Middle Ages class.

I also liked grammar and linguistics.

Sex, Love and Marriage taught by a Catholic priest. The first week we had about 20 kids, the next session 50, and soon most of the school showed up to hear him speak, then we would end up in the cafeteria talking about it, and later we would share our notes with the poor unfortunates who had missed the class.

Microprocessors II. That class was neat. We built one of those swinging pendulum clocks that you can find at Sharper Image or the Discovery Channel Store. We designed thw whole thing (except for the pendulum part, which was fortunately provided) and wrote the software for a Ubicom SX25 microcontroller.

so far (it's my 1st semester as a freshman) I would have to say I really like western civilization....or issues in human services, they're both good classes but somehow I think issues in human services is geared more for what I plan to do (be a youth minister). So I'll say issues in human services!
