I realize that rated xxx material should be destroyed, but right now Raphael and I are discussing how to get rid of romance novels, which can and almost always are scandalous. I said that I was getting rid of my romance novels, because they can lead me to sin. I have many of these books and I was going to trade them in at the local used bookstore for other books (Stephen King, to be specific). I don't want to throw them away because I was raised that you don't throw something of value (which I was taught books were); you trade them or sell them, but never throw them away.

So what say you?

My advice is to throw them away. You have to ask yourself, what is the real value of these books? I would argue that trashy romance novels have almost no "real" value since the material is more harmful than helpful to a soul. You don't want to contribute to another person's temptation, so just throw them out.
