Howie
So as to avoid contamination with sickness and disease, if I were to receive the Host after He had been dipped in the Blood of Christ from the chalace, would this be a legal way to receive communion? There is a church where the priest does this and I was told that this was not a legal way to do it.
Pio Nono
JMJ 9/8 - Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Howie, The method of receiving communion which you describe is called "intinction" and is a perfectly valid way to receive communion. Intincted hosts are to always be received on the tongue, so that the Precious Blood might not get on the receptor's hands. Hope this helps.
