I think that was a reference to having individual communion cups, not to intinction.
Well they shouldn't do that. No priest may do what is forbidden by the rubrics.
(The method of receiving communion which you describe is called "intinction" and is a perfectly valid way to receive communion. Intincted hosts are to always be received on the tongue, so that the Precious Blood might not get on the receptor's hands. Hope this helps.)

Thought this reply I got would clear things up.. Seems alot of people are confused on this subject as I was a little.
I attended a non-catholic church service once that had the grape juice in little teeny plastic cups and the little crackers. Not to sound like a snobby Catholic, but I was stunned, thinking, "how is this a holy remembrance of Christ's last supper?"
me too. this was at my sister-in-law's "baptism" at a non-denominational church (which I don't understand anyway, but oh well, that's another topic). then my husband's family got mad at me when i didn't participate (they don't even go to church, so why they were made i don't know).

That's what I thought your post was about.

Mine was... Someone else (not you) told me that it was against church law but I looked into it and I was informed that it was legal. Guess this is so confusing because of how rare it is done. I personally think that this is a better way of doing it but then again I am not real big on drinking after another person that I don't even know. I don't even like drinking after people I know. :ill:
