Baptism of Infants has existed since Apostolic times and can also be found in the Old Testament, with the Rite of Circumcision, where a new born is circumcised within 8 days of birth and given to the Lord (Luke 2:22-24; Exodus 12:2-12).

Infant Baptism, is not explicitly detailed and stated in the New Testament. There are act of the Apostles, that show the practice was done by them, and to whole houses of believers; Acts 16:15 After she and her household had been baptized, she offered us an invitation, "If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my home," and she prevailed on us; 1 Corin. 1:16 I baptized the household of Stephanas also;.

St. Paul's Colossians, states in Col 2:11-12; 11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not administered by hand, by stripping off the carnal body, with the circumcision of Christ. 12 You were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

St. Paul now equates the Israelite, Rite of Circumcision with the Rite of Baptism. Here we see the transition of Judiac rites and practices into the Christian way, with the fulfillment of the Scriptures.

The stand that the majority of Protestants, along with types of Evangelical, and Fundamentalists take with Infant Baptism is, "its not neccessary; its unbiblical." This of course is false, and in effect goes against a statement made by Christ to the apostles, referring to children. Matthew 19:14 14 but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Karl Keating states about this verse:

Fundamentalists say this verse does not apply to young children or infants since it implies the person being referred to are able to approach Christ on their own. (Older translations have "Suffer the little children to come unto me", which seems to suggest they can do so under their own power.) Fundamentalists conclude the passage refers only to older, ambulatory children, those capable of sin. But the parallel texts says, "Then they brought little children to him" (Lk 18:15), and the following this are the same words as in Matthew 19:14. What is more, some translations even use the term "infants". Indeed, in the Greek the words refer to infants in arms, little children who are unable to approach Christ on their own.1

The Scripture quotes on the 2nd site, do not talk about children, also they cannot be applied to children, without an extensive arguement.

For instance:

"All have sinned" due to Adam's sin, including children.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

That has nothing to do with children or baptism, I believe i posted an official nihil obstat commentary on it.

There a few, but they to would involve, connecting them to baptism, which would make them almost out of context.

I just wanted the basic understanding done for people.
