StColette
lol Angela take heart girlie it will get better It's a new transition and takes time getting used to. I had a really big social life in high school because there were less things to worry about. Now that I'm in college I really have to concentrate on schooling before anything else. My first semester was a wreck I didn't have time for anything it seemed because I wasn't managing my time really well, but now I have the hang of it and things are much better. You'll get the hang of everything just give it time God Bless, Jennie
Ash Wednesday
I hear ya futurenun. I liked college, though my first year was very lonely. Now I'm bored because I don't like my job. I really don't like it, which is frustrating because I *TRY* to be a good sport. I *TRY* to do a good job at work. I *TRY* to remind myself that I'm lucky to have a job. But time after time I get bogged down in unhappiness and I feel like I am wasting my talents and am nothing but a circus monkey playing small tricks and I'm tied in on an institutional leash. And then I feel bad for slacking, so I try to pick back up.... and I slide back in a silly cycle. It's not remotely challenging for me. The only challenging thing for me is being able to stay with it for nine more months. Oh, jeez. Not to change the subject and hijack the thread, of course. Life is tough, but keep your chin up. theculturewarrior
Will pray for you Ash, and you too FutureNun. We learned in University Experience that change, though often difficult, can be rewarding and enriching. Of course, that class put it in modern relative terms, but I think the message is beautiful and biblical. In biblical terms, perhaps it would be...Jesus is the True Vine, and we are the branches. And God the Father prunes us so that we can grow. It's no phun when you're being pruned, but when reach out your new branches, then it's all worth it. Anyway, that's how I think of my time in college. Sorry for rambling on.
homeschoolmom
You're in college and you spell boring with an e?
I was going to say that too, but, well... my spelling isn't always that great. If I could get my daughter to "drop the e, add i-n-g" I'd be happy... toledo_jesus
yeah, you'll meet a ton of people over the course of the next few weeks. You just have to put yourself out there. I'm an RA, and I constantly meet people I don't even WANT to meet. It's terrible, because I'm somewhat reclusive. I can't stop meeting people. I ended up getting involved and it's just weird. However, I don't think you'll have that problem. Just get out there, ask your RA about things that are going on and go to what the school is offering. Chances are you'll meet nice people there. Cam42
Hang on there......you'll be just fine. College was the best 23 years of my life!!!!! j/k. I met my best friend in the whole wide world. I also took the advice of a previous poster.....I went out into the lower quad (at UST) and met three new people. One of whom became my dearest friend. The next thing I knew, I was an LA (liturgical assistant) for the Campus Misery (oops Campus Ministry). I single handedly took on the establishment and got the Creed back!!!!!!!!!! All this from a kid who didn't think that he would be able to live 3 hours from home. Now look at me....I live 1000 miles from home and it is all due to the fact that I met three new people on my first day at UST. Still talk to all three of those people, almost daily!!!!! It is now 10 years later!!!! Man where does the time go? Later-- Cam42
shelly_freak
Angie I know how it feels. ECC is just like all these clicks and stuff. If it makes you feel any better I haven't meet any new people (but I did see Shanon from camp!). I plan on joining the christian fellowship club, that is if I can find out when they have meetings (where the heck do I find out that stuff). So yeah, have heart, at least you've meet some people.
