So I talked to a friend of mine, and I don't know. I think it it would be a good idea and would help with homework. But I don't know if that would be irrevrent or something. I would love to spend more time in the chapel and do better with my homework and I think being with Jesus physically would have a positive impact on my school work. But I thought I'd ask the cool kiddos here what they thought. and adults too, but I call everyone of all ages kids so don't feel discriminated against.

hahaha. I just edited it because I put "home and Adoration" instead of homework. oops

You either do homework or you do adoration. Not both at the same time. If your best friend came to visit you and you ignored them how would you feel?

personally, i think it would be disrespectful because when you go into ADoration you go for Jesus, to spend time with him, to spend quality time with him. How much do you like to do homework with your best friend?

Um... none of the answers really fit, so I null voted. Anyway.

I think it depends on the homework. For example, if you take a Theology class and have homework to do that is to, say, read such-and-such chapter of a book by such-and-such Saint, then that would be a great thing to do during Adoration. But if it's numbers #53-127 in your geometry book, I think it's something better saved for home.

Why do people want to do homework in front of the Blessed Sacrament anyway? Why can't you just do your homework like a normal person?

I understand the idea . . . but I think it's kind of warped.

It's an intimate moment of love with your Divine lover. Imagine a wife saying to her husband "Do you mind if I fold laundry while we make love?"

Being in front of the Blessed Sacrament is a privelage and a Sacred Moment . . .

It's all about what you're reading. I wouldn't read my copy of Pride and Prejudice in Adoration, for example. But I see nothing wrong with reading a little of, say, Story of a Soul, in Adoration, and then reflecting on it. My Theology teacher often gives us quotes from Saints and things like that to read when he takes us to Adoration, and I find that they're wonderful things to talk to Jesus about when you're sitting in front of Him. If I'm wrong, I apologize for voicing the idea, and I'll have to speak with my teacher.

That's not Toan, Tony. It's a girl.

And, no, I can't get on Paltalk. And I must get off PM now, too.

Is it irreverant to want to do everything with Christ? If you go into adoration, before the Lord, and want help with geomtry, who better to be right there helping you but God? Please, anyone tell me how it's irreverant to sit before your God, and receive help.

I do suggest, however, that you spend some time praying before and after you are done, and talking to the Lord. IT's good to ask his help, he is our Teacher of course, in the Faith, and in everything else.

God bless,

Mikey

I heard an interesting statement that will help with this. "It's OK to pray while you smoke, but it's not OK to smoke while you pray." In other words, St. Paul tells us to pray always. It is OK to pray while doing other things in our life, but when it is a specific time for prayer, a daily holy hour for example, you should try and limit other activities. If you are a student, an hour of study should be an hour of prayer because you are fulfilling your current vocation. You are doing the Lord's will in your life. I see absolutely nothing wrong with studying in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I do not think Christ would say to you, "Depart from me, for you are doing your homework."
