lol...u people are funny...

I was reading the parable of the lost sheep a while ago...had a discussion with a friend who had also read it. We received different interpretations that were personally revevant to our lives...tell me, are we both right or both wrong?

Robyn,

Depends. You both may be right with different applications for your individual circumstances. One may be wrong if what they think they interpret goes against the True Nature of God.

For example, what if I felt that God loved the faithful son less and that those who stray get all the inheritence so I tell others it is better to sin and repent than to avoid sin? That would be objectively wrong if there was a sure standard to measure against.

huh?

Well both our interpretations were about reaching out to the sheep...one of us is to look after those who stray from the flock...the other is to go out and increase the number of the flock.

Example, one of us has the gift of compassion and one of us has the gift of evangelism.

If the evangelist was given the 'nurture' interpretation, it wouldn't work. If the nurturer was given the "evangelise" interpretation, it wouldn't work.

BUT God reaches us where we are. Both interpretations are valid. We can look at the parable and see that they relate.

If anyone thinks that they should trust in the church as in institution over the Holy G for Bible Interpretation. YOU ARE WRONG.

If the pope came to me tommorrow and told me the above. HE IS WRONG.

Robyn,

I've heard that from Christians. They were sincere. How would I know they are right or wrong?

Trooper,

Try to be a little more clear on what you are saying. If the Pope told you what??
