It wasn't about fluff hteads, but a particular person trying to fill up the first page with threads they started...

ya know... the particular person in question doesn't post all that often and honestly... I enjoy it when she comes in and has a goof-off session and does stuff like that. Its been months since she did something silly like that. I don't care if they're "stupid", its a great relief from the squabbles I end up reading most of the time. A little silliness never killed anyone.

But thats just me.

Yes, Cmom, I came out to play; and it generated hostility which bewildered me.

(KMS! Bilbo-burglar greetings!).

But it's vain to say I caused hostility: I was only a straw that broke a camel's back.

There are others which find personal threads annoying.

Vera, I love your one news thread suggestion (tho a one-thread sounds too overwhelming and'd probably make me not look at it).

Pet-ster, I realized, that like at a party, with all its different conversations going on, if some housewife from heck barged into the room and disrupted everything, I might well hate it.

OTOH, I might love it.

I would hope, however, that I wouldn't be like Morph and still dissing, but maybe he's having a bad week.

Now if you gentlemen would kindly note, I am rarely here, and I shall stay far away from you when you're having a bad day.

It could've been much worse: I could've broken into yo' threads and been unruly.
But I would not do that (probably).

Yes, Vera, the luvvv is here.

Just give it a few hours. There are a ton of posts, bumps and new threads everyday. The avg life span of a thread on page one (without a bump or post) is a few hours. I wouldn't be overly worried. By time I got on this evening I saw maybe one thread.

Hey, you're Donna. I've found you to be pretty cool, so I just didn't question it.
The intent was simply to give a solution other than saying that the threads should be banned, deleted, edited. There's two groups of people on Open Mic. The ones that come for the fluff, and the ones that come for the substance. Right now there's more fluffy people than substance people.
-sigh-

I miss the substance-and-fluff people. They've pretty much all either gone or have converted to one or the other. And the substance people tend to stay in the Debate Table rather than coming to visit every once and a while like it used to be. And so the fluff people come in and take over Open Mic.

Just my observation... I probably contribute to tons of fluff myself. I'm sorry if I'm terribly... terrible. -_-

I think we need to be fluff AND substance.

We need to talk about important things, but its also a nasty cruel world out there at times, and we also need a safe place to play.

Phatmass is both.

Fluff threads need to be gone with. Big threads that get alot of attention are NOT fluff. Obviously, poeple care enough to keep them alive.

Fluff threads are the ones that have personal messages, and things not everyone can comment on. Those are useless, because it defeats the point of having an open phorum.

God bless,

Mikey
