I, myself, use the subscribtion service and tracking service so that I don't have to go through all the fluff and search all the pages. But you also have to realize that it's a public board with hundreds of different personalities. To say that we should get rid of all personal threads and fluff threads isn't fair to them. To say that we should just allow the fluff threads to take over the board is not right either. For now, we just need to let the board take its course in its life. It'll come back with less fluff and more substance. Whatever doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger. I really didn't mean to come across sharp, and if I did, I apologize. That was not the intent. The intent was simply to give a solution other than saying that the threads should be banned, deleted, edited. There's two groups of people on Open Mic. Sometimes there are too many personal threads, sometimes there are too many news horrors posted as well. It balances out in the end. There are 1300 people on the member rolls now. If you are interested in a particular topic, the tracking and subscribing options work well as Mrs B pointed out.
