All this talk about her is making me think of joining again. My house is in pretty good shape right now, so now's probably a good time... not as overwelming... (I still won't wear my shoes tho...)

Man.... I was about to ask what FlyLady is and then the whole thread got off track.... If you want to discuss how threads are pointless take it to a thread that is ABOUT the pointless threads. Don't ruin threads that might actually have a point just because you don't like it.

So now that it is sorta back on track... What IS FlyLady???

Flylady is a yahoogroup where she sends out emails about housecleaning and organizing. They come all day long. They come from her only (no conversation). And they'll say to go clean your sink, go put on your shoes (she's little nuts about that), go toss in a load of laundry etc. But there are other things too about the deeper cleaning (Today, clean out the junk drawer in your kitchen). It's very popular and there's a book, too. Go to yahoogroups and you'll find her (and a bunch of knock offs)

Ooops... I guess you have to join at Flylady.com.
Cool.... I'd join but I just know I'd end up deleting it all without reading anything. lol
yep, which is why I quit. some of the knockoffs are good though and very specific. They are way less intense. They have groups for moms with new babies, Catholics, homeschoolers, Minnesotans, etc. etc. So, if you want a lower key version, that might be good...

:crackup: sorry to burst your bubble... you're now looking at "normal" in the rear view mirrow... What you have to look forward to is "new normal." And I think there's a group for "tired" mommies, too. (where the goal is to feed your child without throwing up!)

Well, I know it will be different with 2 babies, but "new normal" will be better for me and much closer to "normal" than being pregnant.

Speaking of which, I'm starting to show a little now. :) I can still fit into most of my normal clothes and the maternity stuff is still way too big but its much easier to tell I'm pregnant now... now I have to try on the top for my "dress" for my sister's wedding and see if I need to let the seams out a little.... where's the motivation? lol

Not to get off topic.... I loved starting to show, but not being big enough for maternity clothes... :) It's amazing how quickly that happens after the first baby ruins your muscle tone.

I was in a wedding six weeks after my first baby was born. It was SO MUCH fun to try to guess what size to get. (But I looked pretty good in it, if you catch my drift...)

And now, back to Flylady...

Ah, but HS Mom, Flylady positively encourages deleting all those reminders (at least when one is new). I only use them in this way: to get a feel, over time, of what the Flylady sysytem is throughout any given day.

KMS, check her out and decide for yourself, I guess...but if you find a different group which suits you, let us know about it.

FLY = Finally Loving Yourself.

The basics for FLYbabies (newbies) are: morning and evening routine + 15 minutes de-cluttering in the specific area of the house the Fly-list is on (calld "zones"). The routines begin simply: for instance, an evening routine of brushing your teeth and laying out tomorrow's clothes. Flylady is big on doing just one baby step til it's become auto pilot, then add another.

The "harshness" comes in, in various scathingly honest letters about how we whine and sabotage ourselves, etc;

It's actually quite difficult to persevere w/ the small stuff. I reckon it's Catholic and just what I need, therefore.

But, that Kilroy and the rest of y'all have done it makes me think even better of the Fly system.

That said, I am on strike from much of my eve routine right now.

man yall newbies back off......i think its wonderful that in the midst of all of yall starting all of these "pointless threads" the elders (not meaning old in age, merely in tenure) can have a little fun on the boards

im with pedrox on this one.....lay off the ladies....even though i have no idea what is going on in this thread, it doesnt diminish its importance......how would you like it if someone came into your thread and hijacked it like you did theirs?

Kilroy the Ninja

Hey homeschoolmom.... just out of curiousity, what are some of the knock-offs you were talking about? And, I also don't always wear my shoes... this summer I've been wearing my flip-flops 'cause I wear them everywhere! And usually, in the winter I only wear my slip-on tennies without socks. Oh, I'm so very bad....
