ICHTHUS, I'd like to know, in the Debate Table, just how the Catholic Church abandoned the Gospel.
Yes. Please tell.
Ohh your for the 'Church' that never existed, but was 'found' during the reformation, the one with invisible walls, but still exists on some divine plane, that we cant see but be apart of?

OHHHHHHHHHH That Church.. I know which one.

<_<

Ive never heard so much ignorance in my time on here, even from myself!

Go read a history book. :teach:
No. (And you're lucky I'm responding to your (incredibly rude) post with so much charity.

The Church is visible, in that she has members who can be identified by their public confession of Christ as Lord. She has members who gather together for the 'sincere preaching of the Word of God', the 'due administration of the Sacraments' and who administer ecclesiastical discipline according to the Scriptures. (Unlike Rome, who allows Popes to run rampant unchecked like she did with the Borgia popes) I think Bishop Nicholas Ridley, an one of the Anglican Reformers who was martyred by the Roman Catholic Church, to the glory of God, said it best:
The holy catholic or universal church, which is the communion of the saints, the house of God, the city of God, the spouse of Christ, the body of Christ, the pillar and stay of the truth; this church I believe, according to the Creed; this church I do reverence, and honour in the Lord. But the rule of this church is the word of God, according to which rule we go forward unto life. ... The guide of this church is the Holy Ghost. The marks whereby this church is known unto men in this dark world, and in the midst of this crooked and froward generation, are these: the sincere preaching of God's holy word, the due administration of the sacraments, charity, and faithful observing of ecclesiastical discipline, according to the word of God. And that the church or congregation which is garnished with these marks, is in very deed that heavenly Jerusalem, which consisteth of those that be born from above. This is the mother of us all, and by God's grace I will live and die the child of this church.
Negative Criticism of Other Religions- a post or comment that negatively criticizes (as opposed to constructively criticizes) a different religion in a way that is harmful to open ecumenical dialogue.

True, but he insulted my beliefs in a condescending manner. I suppose I could have mad a (new) thread in Debate Table about it, but it was just easier to respond here.

Oh, and by the way, I was insulting the Roman Catholic Church, not the catholic church.
