Tony
I totally dig them.. The animals, the food, the music (well, some of it lol).. And the Demolition derby I have cousins that show animals, rabbits and ducks last time anyway... I have many reltives that were part of 4H and FFA that showed off cows, horses and things. Anyway, this year I noticed something really cool.. There was a Catholic merchant selling rosaries and things.. all reasonably priced too.. I might have to pick me up one and ask the guy if he has any scapulars on hand.. didnt see any laying out but who knows, maybe something can be aranged.. I get a few at a time since I wear them out so fast lol but atleast one would be super cool

Andrea348
I would like them if they were more interesting. The 4-H program in my area has just gotten, well...sad. There is like nothing there anymore. I did get to be a judge for the talent show at last years fair which was pretty cool, but that is about the extent of it...I didn't even go this year. Guest T-Bone
Our county fair is sub-standard. The county fair just 30 mins south of us rocks...Guess which one everyone goes to. Vicious cycle anyone?
Ash Wednesday
I am all over county fairs! I was in 4-H... I HAD A GRAND CHAMPION HOG!!!! The funny thing was, I got it the year right after my older brother's hog won. I couldn't stay in his shadow, now could I?
toledo_jesus
I love the food and the excitement. There's such an electricity in the air, and it's not all from the exposed wires.

Tony
This years fair was pretty cool Seen this funny ventrilaquist (sp), a Pro life exibit inside one of the barns, had some articles that compared Bush and Kerry, and a 10 page booklet on why Planned Parenthood is evil and what companies support them, etc Thursday I was looking all over for the place that sold the rosaries and things, couldnt find it.. then later on proceded onto a tatoo/piercing booth that also happened to sell rosaries, so I bought one there.. I'll be darned if I didn't see the Catholic place with the rosaries the next day.. found that a little frusterating because I would of rather supported them. I did ask the guy if he had any Scapulars, told me he didn't and I was about the 10th person to ask ( hmmm maybe next year then?) My cousins showed rabbits, goats and Chickens I believe.. One of them won a first prize (well 1 other entry).. the rabbit maybe? Demolition Derby was cool as always Come on, whats not to love about cars banging into eachother like that? .. I always like to see the ongoing rivalry between the "Hendrietta Hillbillies" and the "Grafton Lynch Mob".. haha Hendrietta Drivers won both the compact race and the Feature.. Bragging rights galore for them. I lost about $3 on the horse races this time which is not too bad actually.. was fun though Anyway Phatmass, Im back

philothea
Hee! I liked the Illinois State Fair when I went. I got to ride a camel. (Yeah, those famous Illinois camels, uh-huh.) Visited the very spiffy baby animal petting zoo where a goat tried to eat my shorts. And they had... a porcupine. Nobody was petting it... Wandered among the huge pampered dairy show cows. Watched people wait in line to pay to milk a cow. There was loads of junk food, of course, but I skipped it all. I wish I could go this year, but I'm too busy. The local county fairs are kinda lame. The population is too low to pull off anything big out in the country.
