I cannot and do not believe he is Catholic. I think he's lying about it just to get votes. I think he also plans on doing something bad to us if he becomes President. Even if he is going to mass and recieving communion. I think its al lie..

Maybe he is lying about being Catholic in order to not have to change his religion. He probably doesn't want to be wishy washy which is surprising considering how wishy washy he is in his speeches.

I doubt he's Catholic to get votes, since I don't think people care about the president's religion so much as what they stand for. Most Catholics see through Kerry's morality anyway. I wouldn't be surprise if him claiming to be Catholic is actually hurting him with Catholics.

But that's all hard to say.

I am curious as to what you think he might do to us? Or to even why you think that? That seems to be a little far fetched.

1. You can say good bye to our Pro-life efforts.
2. It is already starting (priest's will be arrested for speaking out against the culture of death)
3. We will all be paying for Abortion and planned parenthood worldwide
4.The Anti-Vatican liberals will have much more power.
5. The supreme court will not have pro-lifers (I believe that was discussed here before)

Basically Orthodox Catholics will lose their rights while the Liberal Anti-Vatican Catholics will be frolicking around pro-claiming their perverse beliefs.

I don't think he has a religion.

Everything he does is to get votes... Vietnam Facade... Catholic... etc...

60 Million Catholics... you better bet he's doing it for votes... he thinks he's a kennedy... which they weren't good examples of Catholics either.

They wear their "religion" on their sleeve. They have no clue of the power of religion.

I think they actually do not believe at all... if he did, he would be living the faith.

:sadder:

I remember feeling that way when Gore was running. Maybe God will rock a miracle and things will get better instead of worse.

In a country like America, which is fairly anti-catholic and very judgmental on catholic persons in office, becoz they might take orders from Rome, I dont think it would be a politically correct way to say your catholic when you aint.

PC not refering to the bad PC.

If he was baptisied Catholic and confirmed he is Catholic no matter what he does. Those rites leave an idenable mark on the soul. He cannot, try as he might, remove that mark.

I say not necessarily true..... There is no more formal cooperation in abortion than publicly supporting it from a political platform.

CCC 2272 Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae," "by the very commission of the offense," and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society.

He is a "Cafeteria Catholic" at best. Either you are Catholic and agree with all the Pope and Magisterium hold true............ or you are catholic...sometimes, or not.
