Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: - ROMANS 5:1

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. - ROMANS 3:25-26

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. - GALATIANS 2:16


[b]->[/b] [i]Dokimos.org[/i] is purposely that by the Catholic Church does not recognize Justification by faith, which is does, but not in the extremist heretical sense, that your justified by fath [u]alone[/u]. For this would contradict James.

The underlying implication is that it is by faith alone that we are justified, but no such word or meaning appears in Scripture, also if such a meaning did exist, then St. James would not have written his epistle on faith and works, since it would obviously be a clear and straight contradiction of St. Paul's Romans.

[b]->[/b] Works of the Jewish Law. Which Christians have been freed from. Also this letter was addressed concerning the Mosaic Law and Jesus Christ. As the NAB Introduction states:

In any case, the new Christians whom Paul is addressing were converts from paganism (Gal 4:8-9) who were now being enticed by other missionaries to add the observances of the Jewish law, including the rite of circumcision, to the cross of Christ as a means of salvation. For, since Paul's visit, some other interpretation of Christianity had been brought to these neophytes, probably by converts from Judaism (the name "Judaizers" is sometimes applied to them); it has specifically been suggested that they were Jewish Christians who had come from the austere Essene sect.
These interlopers insisted on the necessity of following certain precepts of the Mosaic law along with faith in Christ.[b][1][/b]

[b]->[/b] So this was specifically aimed at the Law of Moses and the Judaizers, and not saying works are wrong and do not justify, as James clearly states they do.
