Pio Nono
JMJ 8/21 - St. Pius X Wynd, Personally, I have never heard of a Pope being "deposed"; at most, he could be pressured to resign his office. However, the Holy Father cannot be "fired" or removed from his position, as his authority is given to him by Christ. One can only be deposed by someone in greater authority, and the Holy Father has the highest religious authority in the temporal world. However, he can freely resign his position, and a few Popes (including Pope St. Celestine V) have done this. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
