jasJis
Budge, it's absolutely amazing to me that you're on the level of chopping up a story into small pieces out of context, leaving out sentences and entire paragraphs of an answer to push your own personal agenda. I'll pray for you brother. God bless. PS - What exactly is the source of the second quote you provided?
hmmm.... I'd rate that a 7.2 on the GF-I Scale.. Brother Adam
Is Budge Loraine Boettner??? lol. They use the same tactics. He is constantely quoting "one Catholic said" with no source and no idea to find out who the "one Catholic" is.
MorphRC
He was incorrect saying that we can have secondary mediators/intercessors? What about Mary? The saints? Eachother?
The way Budge posted it, it came over like Arinze was saying that there is more than one mediator between man and God. Mary and the Saints arent mediators, they're intercessors on our part, we pray for them to help us and pray for us, just like we'd ask a friend or loved one to pray for us. But there is only ONE mediator between man and God, Jesus. Im sure you agree with that?
MorphRC
Budge. Please avoid turning this forum into a Copy and paste of anti-catholic carp, and pasting 3-4 newspaper articles out of context, I dealt with that junk on the JCForums.

ICTHUS
it depends on exactly what he meant by it. Subordinate mediation is a part of the faith, but there is no mediation between God and man apart from Christ so I don't know how this concept could be applied in a non-Christian context.
Except that St. Pauls statement that there is "ONE MEDIATOR" is a blanket statement leaving no room for the human invention of 'secondary mediation'
Aloysius
how did you meet Jesus then? i'm sure you just figured it out on your own (well actually: even if you just figured it out on your own you're being a subordinate mediator yourself!) the path to Jesus (who is the One Mediator between God and Man) is full of subordinate mediation. Laudate_Dominum
Except that St. Pauls statement that there is "ONE MEDIATOR" is a blanket statement leaving no room for the human invention of 'secondary mediation'
teehee. St. Paul himself is was a subordinate mediator.
Budge
Dont remember the BIble ever mentioning secondary mediators. Whats with all this halfsie stuff? Mushy-middle gray area, lets ignore Gods directions... Others dont save, they may show you WHO to go for salvation but they dont save you.
MorphRC
I never learnt sub-mediators, when reading about Mary, and the Saints. They are intercessors like people on earth that pray for us, except since Mary and the Saints are in heaven they would have 'more pull'. One Mediator, thats it. Bible says this, and so does Apostolic Teaching, if you apply Mary to this sub-ord. position, that cant be right, since it wasnt until the 4th century, that the mariam cult started, as in what we have today, prior to that, Mary was very, very special in the communities, but never a sub-ordinate mediator. Aloysius
that's all subordinate mediation means morph, they pray for us to Jesus who is the one Mediator between man (us, saints, everyone in the body of Christ) and God.
