TempleofVesarius
babylon 5 sucked so does star trek by the way...the movies were ok i admit...but as a TV series.. anyways my point is all three are highly over-rated, my preference is star wars but only because its the least over rated
Qamidalash
No, Jake! That's funny. You SHOULD get your sister to join--then we'd have two SH's!! Sarah-that-is-not-of-the-huether-clan
ReformationNow
Star Wars is nothing more than a cheap rip-off of Star Trek. Star Trek kicks tail in Warp speed. If you say otherwise, you are a heretic and I shall pray that faulty logic will undermine your entire philosophy. Live Long and Prosper my Trekkie friends! ReformationNow
By the Way, as much as I love Star Trek, Stargate SG-1 is the new best Sci-Fi series or movie to ever come out. All others pale in comparison.

It is illogical that one would look to this 'Star Wars' as a source of entertainment when something as wonderful and as issue-tackling as Star Trek... But whaddya talking about, Reformation, with this 'SG-1'?
ReformationNow
I confer. It is illogical that one would look to this 'Star Wars' as a source of entertainment when something as wonderful and as issue-tackling as Star Trek... But whaddya talking about, Reformation, with this 'SG-1'? You've never heard of 'Stargate SG-1'? It comes on the Sci-Fi channel every Friday evening. I believe reruns of it are shown on Fox over the weekends. Here's the basic premise: The gods of mythology were actually a race of aliens. These aliens are actually a snake-like parasite called the Go'auld which take the body of a human and control it. These Go'auld are highly intelligent and are technologically superior to humans. Because of the Go'auld, these human hosts heal very quickly. Not only that, but a piece of Go'auld technology called a 'sarcaphogus' is able to heal them much quicker, and even bring the dead back to life. Tens of Thousands of years ago, another race of aliens called 'The Ancients' created a 'Stargate.' What this Stargate does is create a wormhole which enables human explorers to travel instantly to other worlds which have a Stargate. Each Stargate inhabited world has it's own combination which must be accessed to travel there. These Ancients transported humans to various worlds throughout the galaxy and so each planet has humans in various stages of technological evolution. Some planets are highly advanced, while others are stuck in the Tool Age. The Go'auld used this stargate as well as their highly advanced technology to make slaves of humans on numerous planets. The Go'auld use human slaves combined with baby Go'auld to create the 'Jaffa.' The Jaffa heal quickly like the master Go'auld, but have a shorter lifespan normally not surpassing two hundred years. The Jaffa are much stronger than normal humans, and are capable of entering environments hostile to normal humans. There is another sub-species of aliens that are allied with Humans. These are the Tokrah. The Tokrah carry Go'auld as well, like the Jaffa do, but these Go'auld are beneficial rather than harmful. The Tokrah are advanced far beyond regular humans, but are fewer in number, and constantly on the run from the Go'auld. And then there are the Asgard. The Asgard are about as advanced as the Go'auld. These aliens are similiar to what we call 'The Grays.' The Go'auld and Asgard have a treaty because they recognize that at this point, they cannot defeat eachother. The Asgard are beneficial and helpful to humans, and recognize that the humans on planet Earth are going to be powerful allies. This takes us to Earth. Approximately 80-90 years ago, the Stargate on earth was located buried near the pyramids in Egypt. The United States Government seized control of it and ran many experiments on it. Finally, about ten years ago, a man named Dr Daniel Jackson discovered how to work it(this is shown in the movie "Stargate"). Approximately 5-6 years ago, the US Air Force was given authority to create several Special Forces teams which travel to various planets in search for allies and technology to defeat the Go'auld. Bear in mind that the general populace of earth knows nothing about any of this. The name 'Stargate SG-1' is in reference to one of those special teams. SG-1 is lead by Col O'Neill(the same actor who played MacGyver); with Captain Samantha Carter; Dr Daniel Jackson; and a former Jaffa and very high ranking guard to the 'god' Apophis, Teal'c(prounced Teelk). It's a great show.
Qamidalash
I have heard of it and seen it, because it's the only sci-fi my grandmother will watch...thanks for the explaination, though! Trekkies unite! Sarah
Didacus
Star Trek: although I detest the liberal views often expressed in it.
Not A Mallard
I like them both in different ways. Star Wars is a myth that should be experienced in a get together. Star Trek is both silly and corny enough be mindless fun and sophisticated enough for the intellect. If I were to pick one to pop in at the end of a hard day, I'd pick a Star Trek movie, though mostly because Star Wars is too special for me to watch whenever I want to. Maximilianus
Firefly, the show, forget the movie. If it would have lasted longer than one season it would have eventually jumped the shark and had William Shatner and Mark Hamill join the cast.
