MichaelFilo
Can someone have faith(supernatural act) without spiritual grace(which allows for supernatural acts). I know that actual grace leads to acts of faith, but I am under the impression that one must have spiritual grace to have faith. Any clarification is appreciated. God bless, Mikey
Pio Nono
JMJ 8/20 - St. Bernard of Clairveaux MichaelFilo, Good question. First things first, though, faith is not something the natural organism can accomplish without supernatural assistance. In fact, man cannot have faith without it being given to him - that's why the verb "to have faith" cannot be active of its own accord, but must have a helping verb. Faith is not accomplished, it is infused - one can only be open to receiving it. In this way, it can be said itself to be a grace, or to be given by grace. Hope this helps.
