The Draft

If I was forced into the army, I'd be one of the first to die from not fighting... I am VERY afraid of pain and I have asthma, so I don't think that will happen, but I wouldn't fight... EVER! Are nuns and monks out of the draft too? I've wondered that for a while now...

Yes. First, all women are out of the current draft plan, but religious ministers (not just priests, but anyone in ministry positions) are exempt.

If I was drafted I would do my best to avoid a combat postion. I would serve, gladly, as a clerk of some nature, in the Coast Guard, or doing civil service at home.

I'd go wherever my country needed me. I would do my best to live up to the men who served before me, including both my grandfathers.
However, a draft is not necessary to combat a bunch of Muslim insurrectionists. There is not a clearly defined enemy like in Korea or WWII. A draft won't be necessary until we are fighting a country with the resources and manpower to defeat our volunteer military.
