I am dreading when my children move out. I like running a household full of people.
I moved into my own apartment so that I could better pray.

No TV

No Radio

Jesus in a tabernacle less then 1 minute away by walking.

And No parents telling me I can not stay and pray after mass.

However I do miss sacraficing for my family. Trying to get them to pray with me (I do not miss the "No not now"). But everything I miss is still a drive of 25 minutes away.

But I think that if you have a good family, which does not hinder your prayerlife, then Home is where the heart is, until you get married.

We just got back from Camp, and my Dad acted like he hadn't seen us in months! He really doesn't like it when we are gone for more then a day. :) It would be interesting to see what happens if I choose to go out of state for college.

:cyclops:

I am of the generation that lived at home until marriage.
18 is the legal age, but not necessarily the time to be out on your own.

I wish I had been able to stay at home and learn stuff about taking care of a house and running a household. Now I have to figure it out on my own... My family was not in any condition to spend energy teaching me these things... :(
In TCW's case, I don't think a red flag would go up though. This is because he's stated he has a full-time job and is also going to school. He's being smart by saving money and getting a better education, therefore he IS investing in his future and thinking of long-term stability.

Yeah, I'd agree with you in TCW's case. I think going to school is a valid reason to stay home ... but if you're 35 and still living with the 'rents with no aspirations of change, that's be an issue.

 TCW

well, now that i'm a totally niffty college student, i don't live at home. it's nice having the freedom. like being able to be out until 1 in the morning was kind of nice, but i miss my family. and really who am i kidding, my mom called at 11 and i wasn't in and she told my roommate to have me call her when i got in, if i hadn't been at the church i would have been screwed! but i do like not having to tell them my every little move and being responsible for my actions, which reminds me, i have some more books to buy. daddy.......... can i borrow the car. oh shoot.

Nah, we get to mess with your heads for a couple of more years before we spring you out on the world...
