ironmonk
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet her an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man consulted his GPS and replied. "You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude." She rolled her eyes and said "You must be a Republican." "I am" he replied. "How did you know?" "Well", answered the balloonist "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I am still lost. Frankly, you've not been of much help to me. The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat." "I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You have made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow now it's my fault." ------------------- LOL... SO Very true. Iacobus
I thought it was that Republicans think everyday is July 4th and Democrats think everyday is April 15th.
I wish I did. LOL! April is soooo much more pleasent weatherwise than July 4th. Moreover, taxs are a lot more important than a fake holiday. The DoI wasn't published until Aug 2nd and was written on July 2nd. The 4th was just the day they showed it to the congress. Other than that it is a pointless day. geetarplayer
Heh... I try to avoid politics. Even though I'll be old enough to vote in five years, I won't actually get to vote for another eight years. So, I still have some time to be apathetic. -Mark

Iacobus
A pointless day...what a crock of [EDITED BY: ME!] and you call yourself an american...oh yea thats right...your a democrat
Well it is a pointless day. Nothing happened on it. We should have it on a day that mattered, like Aug 2 1776 when it was OFFICAL. Not a kinda retroactive day. John Adams even wrote home saying that Americans will forever honor the 2nd of July. But moreover does it really matter? July 4th as a Holiday no longer means much. Go around, people don't think of the Fourth as a day when we remind ourselves what we stand for. It is a day for picnics and fireworks. U.S. Constitution isn't valid. That is a Catch22. It was ratified under what it said should be done by the states *close to what teh AoC called for* and decleared itself supreme. So it is valid under its own vaidlity. But what is the arguement for it not being valid? I have heard no such factoids.
