Iacobus
You could fight with me. As long as no sneaky PMers (COLLEEN MICAH VOICI THAT IS YOU!!!) do some evil things like what Capt John (is that right?) did. LOL!
Thy Geekdom Come
Oh, Vera, I'm so sorry! First, the guys. What you described is bad news. I highly recommend that you stay away from them as much as possible, but be charitable if you must be around them. I don't mean to startle you or scare you, but these are exactly the same type of guy who went after St. Maria Goretti. I say this as a man and as a person with experience in rape counseling. Be cautious and pray for St. Maria Goretti's intercession. Second, your mother. My little brother makes jokes like that all the time and I can't stand it. Unfortunately, I'm sure you don't have the kind of power over your mother that I have over my brother. Be patient and continue to pray for the conversion of all. God bless. My prayers are always with you.
VeraMaria
Thanks Micah. It's not that bad, just kind of frustrating. Especially becasue I KNOW those guys are bad news. I see the way they treat my friends. I refuse to be treated like that, which hurts their big ego and makes them all the more determined to get me to say Yes. But they don't know me I try to be as charitable as possible while shwoing I'm not interested, leave me alone, etc. Ugh. I might pull a Catherine de Siena... Edited August 15, 2004 by VeraMaria

Vera, this is really awful, and I'm praying for you. You are really amazing!

If a man wants to "break" some animal (and this phrase compares you to an animal, thus they are not treating you as a person...another problem with secularism), then it runs as a sort of instinct that breaking an animal will get to violence if necesary. Please, just be careful. I'm curious if your mother sees what type of guys these are. I don't know a single mother who would expect her children, especially her daughter, to be in a heavily male-dominant sexual relationship (and it seems obvious that that is what these guys want). Does your mother turn a blind eye to sexual activity? Does she actually encourage it? God help our country and its foolish morals... And you can pull a Catherine de Siena if you want, but someday in the next couple centuries, a girl in your position will talk about pulling a St. Vera Maria. theculturewarrior
Somewhere in your high school there's a guy who you could get a long with...He's sweet, humble, loving, not a machista or a chauvenist pig. There's a pretty good chance that he's an intelligent and even wise beyond his years practicing Catholic. How do you find this man, Vera? Ask the guys at the party who they make phun of the most, who they tease the most, etc. It's your man! Nevertheless, I recommend acquiring a BA degree before even thinking about love. Start off with a nice phriendship. (PS some mothers think that if you aren't married by the age of what, 21? you're done for. But your mother in Heaven knows better.)
