White Knight
I strongly support the "Second Admendment", not to just own guns, but to own guns in times of "Crisis", to where people have the "Ability" and "National Right", to "Defend "Themselves" against "Domestic", and "Forin Enemies." Edited August 14, 2004 by White Knight
Phazzan
I think guns are a problem. In Australia, we've rarely had any problems with guns since Port Arthur massacre in '96 which killed 30 odd people. Gun laws have been tightened making it extremely difficult to obtain a gun licence. The news laws seem to be working, but they can also fail. Case in point, it might have been a few months/years ago but some bloke shot dead his wife and then himself after having his gun licence suspended, only for it to be reinstated on appeal. I don't think there is any moral wrong in owning a gun for self defence, I just think society would be best served without them.

MorphRC
I refuse to get a gun, its a cowards weapon. But Im saving for a Sword, and training, so atleast I have SOME control in the damage I cause to a person attacking me.
socalscout
I refuse to get a gun, its a cowards weapon.
Tell that to the guy pointing his at you. I bought my 9mm during the riots(I grew up in Los Angeles). I also bought it because I owned a video game biz and I was always carrying hundreds of dollars in quarters so I would illegally walk around strapped. I have it in a safe at home now. I shot it often and got really good at it but I sold the biz and I live in a good neighborhood now so I rarely shoot it. I'm thinking about selling it(to a relative) and buying a shotgun. The shotgun is the best home protection besides a dog. No aiming just point and click. Let me conclude this by saying that a gun has one purpose so the need to use it must be grave. Having to use a lethal weapon is not of God. No good can come from it even if it protects your life but sometimes those things must happen I guess. picchick
I wrote a whole paper on this! I totally agree and support the second amendment. I don't carry a gun around with me nor do I plan on it. But I think that a person who is able to handle one responsibly should be able to get one. Even if it the law were to be abolished the felons will get a gun anyhow. Then law abiding citizens will be in danger.
Paladin D
I refuse to get a gun, its a cowards weapon.
Thats as absurd as saying a bow-and-arrow is a cowards weapon. Guns are part of modern warfare, it takes skill. You can use a sword to stab somebody (which is easy), but it takes skill to fight an opponent who also has a sword. Same can be said with a firearm. Anybody can shoot someone if they're close enough, but it takes skill to aim at long range and to also avoid the fire of the enemy shooter. I like both, and I plan on owning both. White Knight
I refuse to get a gun, its a cowards weapon.
Dude, I agree, the Sword has more Honor and is More Personal and Smybolic compared to a Gun, but I dont believe Guns are Cowards weapons. Sure its easier to kill someone with a gun than it is a Blade of some sort, but that still doesn't make it a cowards weapon ethier. Guns Require much skill and timing, much like a sword does, swords are more Physical and Concentration, but Guns are more Mental and Concentration Combinded. You really can't compare the.two's training with each other, its just too different man. Ive trained with Swords, Staves, Knives, & Guns, and all of them are hard work if you wanna get techinical about it. Ive been training for about 5 years now and its still hard work, even with someone at my skill level, its still hard. God Bless. Iacobus
I have a unshrapened saber. After that my next defense is a Swiss Army Knife. Nada after that. I will never own a gun. Second admendment says that "a milta" can bear arms. Privite citizens are not part of a well regulated milta. You tend to overlook that. Moreover, I don't need a fully automotiac assulat weapon to hunt or defend myself. Also, I want to have kids. I want a small family (no more than 4 hehe) I don't want my kids in a house with a gun. Even if I store it in 7 safes and store the bullets in an other 7 safes in a different state and I have a trigger lock. There is still a risk. The best way to prevent it? Don't have a gun. Crusader_4
I would actually own a gun mostly to hunt though i enjoy hunting a fair bit. Although for self defense i have little issue with a Gun but the bigger issue is i trust myself with a gun and i trust my good friends with a gun in their home but do i trust the yahoo down the street with a gun in his home? so it has its plus and minuses although i wouldnt get anything high powered probably a 22 or something but i wouldnt buy it with the intent of self defense rather hunting...and where i live there honestly is next to no need for a gun for self defense.
