Oh all right, you've defused me. :D
No offense intended.

I guess after my mom died, my aunt gave me a lot of the "get off the pity pot" and I try to see things in perspective --

I prefer to compare the difficulties of men and women as being the difficulties of apples and oranges. We bear our crosses, us ladies and gents, but the nature of them is different.

Which sex has it heavier? God only knows. I'd like to think they're the same weight, just different substance.
Right, exactly - refer to my first thread -

physically - men are meant to have it tougher physically. My rant is that some woman who do not have it tougher in a physical/manual labor sense and say they do, should not do so.

I remember last year when I was pregnant and working at a daycare fulltime. After work, without really saying so, my husband and I would size up each other's day and mentally figure out who had the tougher day in order to weasel out of making dinner or maybe talking the other into a nice massage. But one day I had an epiphany...
It wasn't who worked harder during the day, but who was willing to give more of them selves when they got home. It wasn't who was more tired, but who was more loving. My husband usually won, but it inspired me to keep up...

Wow, Brother Adam, it sounds like you are really blessed by God with a job to offer up. Think of the souls you could be winning by your sacrifices... ;-)

I'm not being sarcastic... What I was going to say is that I am really, really blessed to have a husband who spends the hours and days of his life doing a job he doesn't really like, making a commute of an hour each way to do it in an effort to support our family so that I can stay home with our kids and homeschool. On top of that, he comes home and helps me with whatever housework is left to do and helps with the kids. He's great. And he never complains about it. While I think that homeschooling two kids with an almost toddler underfoot, nursing and caring for the house is hard work, I KNOW that he has it tougher... You just got all nasty...

Okay, well just don't say that around your wife when she goes into labor.
We would like to continue to enjoy your company here on phatmass.

But - as you said - it shouldn't be based on gender. Unfortunately this was my personal experience is that it was one gender doing this type of "thing". I agree with you there too.

Thank you, that's a brilliant insight.

Right - I also tried to make the exception for labor earlier in the thread. While I think it would be an interesting experience, I think I'll leave that for you gals :)

That's great. I don't complain about it either. No point. It just makes everyone miserable anyway. And my post certianly isn't directed towards you. You accept that your husband does work very hard.

I wish I had a wife. :( I would work hard all day and then come home and change diapers all night just bask in her presence. (I'd even break stuff trying to fix stuff on the weekends.)

Yes it is! I would use it as my signature, except that Dust is being mean and is giving no room at all anymore for sigs.

But you came right on here and started complaining... about women who complain about the physical nature of their jobs? I still not exactly sure who your beef is with... Is it Stay at home moms? Cause it sure came off that way to me...

(Where was I sarcastic??)

If I marry my current beau (I probably will), I think on the physical labor index, we will be the same since we are both computer geeks.

(He's a code geek, I'm the art geek.)

"I scripted a flash presentation and sat at the computer for TWELVE hours today!"

"That's NOTHING! I set up a database, and sat at mine for FOURTEEN!"

:argue:

Yes, I would agree that being around children 24/7 is spiritually demanding... That's an excellent way to say it, m25a... and it's draining.

<please stop "washing" the mirror with soft soap and toilet paper>
<I don't know why the neighbor girl won't play with you... let's talk about it>
<the sofa is not gymnatic equipement (repeat 500 times a day)>
all day long...
