Brother Adam
If you have kids so did you. You did not have to choose to have kids. Yes, I did have a choice too, I could have choose to be unemployed. This is not a rant about having to have a tough job. My point is that men who work physical, manual labor jobs, have it physically tougher than woman who do not have such responsibilities. And if you would take construction over having children, find a construction job (if you dont' have children or aren't married yet) and work it for a month. Construction work is fulfilling in that you get to see the fruit of your labor. But it is still tougher and more physically strenous work than raising children. Yet, the people who I'm directing this thread at are those who have no children and work light work (service or industrial) jobs part time. You just don't have it tougher. Ash Wednesday
Agh, but I said generally not exclusively, so your return rant does not hold water Ash Wednesday.
I suppose if you want to twist things around because of usage of words, I think your original rant had the GENERAL point that, across the boards, men have it harder. And I would say, that does not hold water. But if you want to rant for the sake of ranting, that's fine. However, if your rant was directed towards women who think that THEY have it harder, you weren't very clear about that. It's just as well that wasn't intended to generate sympathy, because it sure didn't generate any from me.

theculturewarrior
I have an even handed solution to this debate. The things that make women's lives tough are a result of the fall, and the punishment God gave to Eve. Likewise with Adam, only they were different punishments. God knew what he was doing because men and women are different. And God is just. It's apples and oranges people.
DancesforLove
lol you agreed with him lol no offense Adam I just think people should stop viewing a persons sex, its not about race, sex, age, anything because there are plently of women who work extremely hard, and there are plently of men who do nothing. So I think that male/female should be left out and it should go by people individually.

Colleen
*throwstomatos* I'm a teenager still and I can guarantee you we don't sit and wat tv and do laundry especially those taking care of the kiddos. Apparently you need more time with little ones to realize you have to change dirty diapers, feed them, chase them around, make sure they stay out of things, you don't get a chance to sit and watch TV, I know I babysitt and have alot of contact with children.
Your life sounds like mine, lol! It's tough manual labor to break up fights, chase kids and dogs up and down stairs seventy-six times daily, lug mounds and mounds of laundry up and down stairs (another seventy-six times daily), etc, etc. And they're not even my kids. I'm just the big sister. I understand sorta what you mean, Brother Adam. But what was described above is a lot of hard work, too. Sometimes Phatmassing every now and then during the day is the only thing to keep me sane.
lifeteenchick527
i understand ur point...but i just wanna say that God gives you wat u can handle, he created male and female differently, and he created each human differently, soo...it just depends on the person...and if somethin ever gets to hard just pray about it...so...i dont knoe if that helps anythin but...just keep it in mind yall kk...God Bless...Peace out

Ash Wednesday
LOL. All in Love, Ash Wednesday
Oh all right, you've defused me. No offense intended. I guess after my mom died, my aunt gave me a lot of the "get off the pity pot" and I try to see things in perspective -- I prefer to compare the difficulties of men and women as being the difficulties of apples and oranges. We bear our crosses, us ladies and gents, but the nature of them is different. Which sex has it heavier? God only knows. I'd like to think they're the same weight, just different substance.
