Thy Geekdom Come
http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2003/sep/03091006.html What in the name of secularism is that all about? Why do the EU, ACLU, etc. (liberal groups) always have to impose their rigid standards on everyone else? They always say that there is no absolute right or wrong...it this is true, then why do they think they are so right that they have to impose it on everyone? I, for one, am sick of all this extreme politican correctness.
cmotherofpirl
Stupidity is a universal trait. Next they will outlaw the Bible.
JP2Iloveyou
These groups are really quite hypocritical. Realize, I'm only speaking with regards to groups like this in the United States, but it could apply anywhere else as well. The First Amendment to the Consititution says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof." These neo-communist groups and the judges that help carry out this corruption conveniently forget the second clause of the amendment, "NOR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF." How is it not prohibiting our free exercise of our Catholicism when our tax dollars are being used to fund abortions in this country and overseas? Another example, they can have gay pride parades up and down Times Square forcing their New Age views of sexuality on society, but they won't allow a plaque of the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public. This madness must stop and we need effective leaders who are willing to take a stand. Pray, pray, pray for judges who will throw lawsuits like this out of court. Thy Geekdom Come
How is it not prohibiting our free exercise of our Catholicism when our tax dollars are being used to fund abortions in this country and overseas? Actually, you reminded me of something, my state passed a law banning public funding of abortion and planned parenthood. YAY!!!
Good Friday
I was reading about this earlier today, and actually I wrote something about it in my weblog. This is not new. I feel that the "global unification" powers of the world are gearing up for a total assault on national and organizational sovereignty. I feel that this issue with Greece is their experiment. See, Greece is perfect. It has a very religious culture because of the Greek Orthodox church. And it's small, so it's easier for the European Union to dominate. You'll notice when reading the article that Mt. Athos is not the only issue. Greece has also been ordered to allow the Muslims to build mosques and cemeteries, and to legalize proselytism -- converting others to your religion. This is an attack on national sovereignty, the right of a nation to make decisions for itself. Greece is the experiment, and once the global unfication powers in the world know whether or not they can dominate Greece, I feel that they're going to take this thing global. It's already begun. On my weblog, I posted a link to information about the International Criminal Court, based out of Amsterdam. Groups have already begun to talk about taking the Pope and the Bishops before the International Criminal Court for "crimes against humanity" based on their views about abortion, contraception, and homosexuality. They've started describing Catholic doctrine in terms that point to "crimes against humanity" and "hate crimes." The aims of the International Criminal Court are so broad that such a thing is possible. If the EU is successful in forcing Greece to give up its national sovereignty, expect the secularists of the world to unite in organizations like the United Nations, the European Union, the United Religions Initiative, the World Council of Churches, etc. to force the Catholic Church and any other body that stands in their way to accept their secularist agenda -- or else. Of course the Catholic Church will not accept the secularist agenda, but it could mean martyrdom. (I know that all sounds like a giant conspiracy theory, and it is, but that doesn't mean it's impossible).

God Conquers
Nathan is right, Also historically Greece has been the first ideological battleground. After WWII it was the battleground of the first proxy war of capitalism vs. communism. Now it's the forces of globalization, led by the corporate controlled EU against nationalism and self-determination. It's intolerance of intolerance posing as tolerance (figure that one out). The European Commision (the body which propose forth [and almost aleays succeeds in passing] legislation for the EU) is now the most lobbied international body. (it is essentially a 50 000 member think-tank) It is also recognized as one of the most corrupt. (It's leadership has fallen at least once due to acceptance of corporate bribes.) I'm guessing they hope to pit religions against each other so that they try to destroy each other. All they want to do is SELL. And it's difficult to sell condoms and fancy cars to the deeply religious.
Good Friday
I posted a whole bunch of things we can all do to help save Mt. Athos on my weblog, Grace Pages. Lots of addresses that took me literally hours to compile. Go take a look.
