colleen and i are on a mission to convert jacob to saying mIlk and Illinois instead of mElk and Ellinois.....anyone else want to help?

he is in the stage of denying our truthful claims and coming up with weak, unsupported arguments for his false belief

Okay, Jacob. Here's the thing. The words "milk" and "Illinois" are both spelled with the letter "i," not an "e." Therefore, they must be pronounced with the short "i" sound, not with the short "e" sound.

And the guy on yourdictionary.com pronounces it correctly, no matter what you say. :P

In college, I had long conversations on proper pronunciations and vocab. with my Milwaukee ("miwaukee") friends... Melk/milk was one of them... (I'm with you, Jacob)...

I say Mawakee. LOL! Pretty close for a good ole Milk drinking shoe wearen non distorten Illionis.
