RandomProddy
I didn't realize there was anything in the bible that taught against the use of motor vehicles at all. I thought Scripture was silent on that issue. However, Scripture is not silent on eating meat, as dairygirl and spriles noted. Choosing to be a vegetarian is one thing... saying that one must be a vegetarian to follow the bible is, well, an error.
Then again it doesn't command you (you must eat meat) to eat meat either there or (more importantly) in the NT.
I agree. I don't care if people are vegetarians or not. My beef () is with the notion that God prefers us to be vegetarians, when I cannot see any support anywhere for this idea. (I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone here... I had a coworker who insisted that God wants us to not eat meat as it was before the Flood.) RandomProddy
My beef ()
Actually I'm kinda similar but I have a barometer for what meat I will eat: am I prepared to kill the animal it came from? So I'm quite happy to eat fish, cow, pig etc.. but I'll never ever eat dog or horse. It's kinda irrational choices I know but that's mine. Incidentally, I still have a fish I need to cook from fishing.. mmm

Dusty Fro
Well this got stupid really fast. I didn't tell anyone THE BIBLE COMMANDS YOU TO BE A VEGETARIAN. I just stated my beliefs and reasons for being a vegetarian. God gives permission to eat meat, it's there in black and white, but I still don't believe that's the ideal. Also, some of the scriptures listed are for specific incidents (the Acts one that dairygirl listed) I certainly didn't expect a barrage of DHWGWEweihYOUARESOWRONG! My brother worked in a hog barn too, which I had to visit to pick him up from work. It wasn't great, not even pretty good. Because it's always fun to be stuck in a 3x5 pen in a cement building with no windows to the outside and have your feces washed off of you with a pressurized hose, to be raised for slaughter. Man, I wish I was a pig.

I don't think you really need to use that standars when in the grocery store.
Aloysius
what do you think about the fact that using "creulty free" products actually harms MORE animals?
qfnol31
Catholics are called to be vegetarians one day of the week. Fridays!
Dusty Fro
I don't think it is a fact. I have never heard that from anyone but you, so you're going to have to find me something more substantial than speculation about animal testing. M.SIGGA
Vegetarianism is an eating disorder. God created man in His own image with canine teeth so there must be a valid reason to eat and enjoy meat. Next time you make a sandwich grab some meat and treat yo'self to something heavenly

Dusty Fro
Excellent. Once again, I'm being ridiculed for my beliefs and lifestyle. You guys are the most inconsiderate group of Christians I've crossed in my life.
